Event Organization

  • 2014-present: UI Algebra Seminar (co-organizer)
  • 2024-present: UI Powwow volunteer
  • 2025-2026: Lead organizer of week-long visit during March 2026 by Ida Beam Distinguished Visiting Professor Joshua B. Nelson (joint with English, Cinematic Arts, Gender, Women’s and Sexuality Studies, History, and Anthropology, as well as the Native American and Indigenous Studies program)

Student Engagement

  • 2026-present: UI Native American Student Association, Faculty Advisor
  • 2022-present: Department of Mathematics First-Year Graduate Student Seminar, Primary Instructor
  • 2019-present: Math Alliance mentor for students in Facilitated Graduate Admissions Process (one student per year)

Professional Memberships

  • 2023-present: American Indian Science and Engineering Society
  • 2020-present: Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science
  • 2019-present: National Association of Mathematicians (lifetime member)
    Professional organization promoting excellence in the mathematical sciences, and mathematical development of all underrepresented American minorities in general and African-Americans in particular.
